My Recommendations for Vegan/Vegetarian Restaurants in Valencia, Spain
September officially marks a year that I have been living in Valencia, Spain. My partner got a job as an English teacher, and I’ve spent the last year in language school. Living here has been wonderful, I love taking walks in Turia Park, wandering the old town and taking in the beautiful architecture and history, and visiting the many wonderful art and history museums. We’ve also been pleasantly surprised by how many vegetarian and vegan options there are all over the city! Today, I’d like to share my partner and I’s favorite spots that we keep revisiting over and over.
3. Khambu
https://khambu.com/
Located in El Carmen by the Quart Towers
C/ de Quart, 41b, Ciutat Vella, 46001 València, Valencia
My partner and I live in the old town, so Khambu is located close to our apartment. The food is delicious, and the desserts are delectable as well. Khambu has your standard fast food fare of appetizers, burgers and sandwiches, but it’s all entirely vegan! They also have a bunch of different sauces, including one of my favorites, ranch! Even back in the United States I was unable to find vegan ranch, and the vegan ranch here is just as good if not better than non vegan ranch. My favorite things from Khambu are the sweet potato fries, Urubambu burger, and the black forest cake.
2. Almalibre Acai House

Located in El Carmen
Carrer de Roteros, 16, bajo izquierda, Ciutat Vella, 46003 València, Valencia
A slightly healthier option to Khambu is Almalibre Acai House. Here they not only have burgers, but hot dogs and wraps as well. As suggested in the name, they also serve beautiful fresh açai bowls. This restaurant is vegetarian, as they serve eggs in their breakfast menu. But, a majority of their menu is vegan! My personal favorites are the Munich hotdog and patatas bravas. They also serve a delicious custom salad called ‘Bowl a Tu Manera’ and I love the smoothies they have available.
1.Madrigal

Located in Russafa
C. de Puerto Rico, 41, L'Eixample, 46006 València, Valencia
Last but not least, Madrigal Cafe. By far my partner and I’s favorite restaurant in Valencia. The staff here are absolutely lovely, and we love the atmosphere. It’s also entirely vegan! Situated on a peaceful street in the lovely neighborhood of Russafa, the restaurant has a nice cozy vibe. They have delicious appetizers, and the red curry on their menu is my comfort food. I would absolutely recommend this place if you’re in Valencia, wether you’re vegan or not.
There’s plenty of other vegan/vegetarian restaurants in Valencia I haven’t even tried! These three just happen to be the ones I frequent. Valencia has a bunch of amazing food, and my partner and I have been delighted at the options we have found. If you’re visiting Valencia and are vegan/vegetarian yourself, I hope you try and enjoy these places just as much as I have!
